The Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, has cleared Adebayo Dayo-led Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Senator Buruju Kashamu, the nod, to go ahead in the 9th March gubernatorial election in the State.
The Federal High Court judge, Justice Abubakar Shittu who delivered the judgement in a suit filed by the National Body of the Party, said, argument of the
plaintiff is unwarranted.
A PDP governorship hopeful, Oladipupo Adebutu had challenged the nomination of Senator Buruji Kashamu as the party’s governorship candidate.
The court further held that the plaintiffs (PDP and its officers) are stopped from relitigating the issue of who has power to conduct primary elections of the PDP in Ogun State and submit the list of candidates.
According to the court, the case was an abuse of court process.
