Chiemeka Arinze, one of the suspected kidnappers charged along with alleged billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, is dead.
He died in prison custody from what a medical report linked to advanced HIV.
They are both standing trial alongside Joseph Emeka, and Udeme Upong, over the kidnap of Chief Vincent Obianodo, the Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors.
The Lagos Ministry of Justice filed a seven-count charge of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.
Report says the defendant, Chiemeka Arinze died on Friday, November 26, 2021 as a result of Cardiopulmonary arrest.
Before his death, he was rushed from the prison to Ajeromi General Hospital on Friday, where he later died.
