The Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, SNB, has been inaugurated at the Silverbird Communications.
The Executive Secretary of the Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria, BON, Dr. Yemisi Bamgbose led other members to the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos to perform the ground breaking ceremony.
The team was received by the President of the Silverbird Group, Guy Murray-Bruce, the Chief Operating Officer, Bola Salako and other members of staff.
In his opening remark, Yemisi Bamgbose says the team is delighted to make history with the inauguration.
According to him, the idea to have the professional body has been in the pipeline for over 60 years.
But like the saying goes, better late than never, it came into fruition with a directive and mandate from the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria.
He appreciated the support of BON and encouragement from Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce.
He said the vision of the SNB is to bring professionals under one umbrella to promote professionalism and attract recognition for members.
Responding, Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce pledges more support for the organisation, while also encouraging members of Silverbird family to take advantage of the opportunities provided by SNB.
The highlights of the event was the formal presentation of the membership form to Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce and veteran Nollywood actor cum broadcaster, Patrick Doyle.
Guy Murray-Bruce commended Mr. Bamgbose for good efforts and assures him of support to make the project a success.
The high-point is the presentation of a registration form to Guy Murray-Bruce as the first member from STV followed by Patrick Doyle.
