The All Progressives Congress Screening Committee for Edo State Governorship aspirants has disqualified the incumbent governor of the state Godwin Obaseki from contesting the party’s primaries.
The committee said there were some discrepancies in the certificates he submitted.
Governor Obaseki can appeal the committee’s decision.
The governor had on Wednesday said he was asked by the screening committee if an official gazette which he signed doesn’t constitute an anti party activity.
The gazette bans large gatherings making it impossible for direct primaries to hold.
