One of the groups supporting the ongoing #Endsars protests has been unveiled.
A coalition of young Nigerian women, called Feminist Coalition said it has thrown its weight behind the project with all the necessary logistics and financial support.
The group founded in July 2020 by Damilola Odufuwa and Odunayo Eweniyi claimed that it decided to support the cause of the #EndSARS protesters as its first project to help fight injustice through fundraising, in order to sustain the protests and ensure the safety of Nigerians exercising their constitutional rights.
It expressed that it has provided food, water and other refreshments, masks, medical aid, security, information and legal aid for protesters.

The group with the name Feministcoalition on foller.me – a Twitter analytics application that gives rich insights about any public Twitter profile, gathers near real-time data about topics, mentions, hashtags, followers, location and more, already has over 105,147 followers but not following any other Twitter handle user and over 36,000 followers on Instagram.
Giving a financial update through its official Twitter handle, the coalition announced that N73,298,499.13 has been raised as of October 17 through crowdfunding.
According to the group, donations have been used on first aid, masks, bail, hospital bills, food, water, glucose for protesters and provision of legal aid to protesters arrested during the ongoing nationwide protests.
The Feminist Coalition tweeted: “On Oct 17th we donated N3,520,000 to 11 protests and made a donation to @endsarsresponse for food, water, ambulances, and other support. Total ₦ raised: N73,298,499.13; Total ₦ disbursed: N23,708,280.00. Balances NGN 49,590,219.13

Meanwhile it further disclosed over N20 million has been disbursed to support the protests in the past few days.
The group in its mission statement said it founded the group having approached 11 other “exceptional women who were equally passionate about changing our country and the role of women in it.”
The group reiterated its commitment to helping the Nigerian youth amplify their voices, as it collectively demand an end to injustice.
Some of the women mentioned as the Founding Members of the Feminist Coalition include Layo Ogunbawo, Ozzy Etomi, Ire Aderinokun, others are; Fakhrriyyah Hashim, Ayodeji Osowobi, Jola Ayeye, Laila Johnson-Salami, Karo Omu, Obiageli Ofili Alintah, Tito Ovia, Kiki Mordi and Isioma ldigbe.
