The acclaimed leader of secessionists group, Indigenious People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has been re-arrested and currently being docked at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu was reportedly re-arrested on Sunday and brought before the court on Tuesday.
Briefing newsmen at a joint media briefing of the Department of State Services and the Police, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami said Kanu was ‘intercepted’ on Sunday 27 June, 2021.
Malami said the arrest was by the effort of intelligence services.
The Justice Minister said Kanu has been returned to Nigeria to face his 11-count charge bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, illegal possession of firearms, among others.
Recall that Kanu had jumped bail in 2015 and has been on the run before he was re-arrested.
