A middle-aged man, Mr. Joseph Micheal has been arrested for allegedly shooting one Mr. Kudus popularly called ‘Alfa’ dead, while two other victims wounded in the robbery attack are currently receiving treatment in an hospital.
The arrest was made by Dr. Soji Ganzallo led Special arm of Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps.
The incident was communicated through ACC Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations who informed that the incident occured at about 2000 hours, on Sunday, 11th December, 2022, before a team of patrol led by ACC Ajayi Amos of Arepo Division of the Corps under Ifo 2 Area Command arrested the suspect.
The agency also stated that some victims sustained degree of injuries in Arepo/Fadunsi, Ijoko in Ifo Local Government Area.
According to Ganzallo, the So-Safe Corps personnel gave the culprit a hot chase after he had allegedly committed the crime and he was captured while the rest members of the gang escaped on three motorbikes.
Ganzallo assured the public that the Corps is also making effort to arrest the gang members and to recover the gun used to perpetrate the crime.
Ganzallo stressed that the robbery suspect had been transfered to the Nigeria Police Lemode Divisional Police Headquarter for further investigation and prosecution.
