One of the police escort riders in the convoy of Nigeria’s Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo Inspector Ali Gomina, was involved in a road accident and died.
The sad news of the death of the 45 years old police officer who was on official duty on Friday was contained in a statement from the Office of the Vice President through his Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande.
According to the statement, “The accident occurred on the road to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. the Vice President, who is greatly saddened by this occurrence, has aborted the trip.”
The statement added, the Vice President described Gomina as a diligent, hardworking and serious-minded officer who will be greatly missed by the team. He is survived by his wife, children and relatives.
