Many attendees of recently concluded African Magic Viewers Choice Award, AMVCA, might have been exposed to person suffering from Coronavirus.
This is according to the Lagos State Government in a statement released on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
According to the statement those who participated at the AMVCA, held in Lagos were most likely exposed to the deadly, COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi those who attended the AMVCA award on March 14, 2020 in Lagos may have come in contact with one of the confirmed cases in Lagos.
According to him, “#COVID19 Lagos Alert I hereby notify you that all participants at the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) held on 14th March at @EkoHotels may have come in contact with one of the confirmed cases in Lagos and are most likely to have been exposed to #COVID19 Infection”, the Health Commissioner said on the social media.
In the light of this, Prof. Abayomi has consequently directed all those who attended the event to go into self isolation, observed social distancing directive and call 08000CORONA to avoid further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
