Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre, PEACrEc, in a bid to alleviate the pain and suffering of the less privileged children during the lockdown caused by COVID-19 pandemic outbreak has reached out to children living in poor communities of Lagos spanning from Oshodi, Ipaja, Akowonjo, Igando to Agbado area of Ogun State.
PEACrEc was able to carry out this huge responsibility with the help of well-meaning Nigerians who responded to the NGO’s call in both cash and kind and also Organizations including Flour Mills of Nigeria PLC, PZ Cussons, NORDICA Fertility Centre and Federal Government College, Ijanikin ‘84 Set, who partnered with the NGO to put smiles on the faces of these less privileged children.
The NGO extended a hand of help to the Chelsea and Roland Foundation by giving various items distributed by PEACrEc so that the Foundation can help to reach out to poor children within their jurisdiction.
Children of Little Saints Orphanage at Akowonjo also received the gifts items from PEACrEc.
The children located in these poor communities were excited to receive the several items from PEACrEc and their parents were equally amazed at the show of love to their families despite the lockdown.
Other beneficiaries of the intervention include indigents in Ipaja, Igando, Alagbado and Oshodi.
PEACrEc remains committed to bringing peace to families and communities through every means at our disposal, we believe that our society can really know true peace when the basic needs of the vulnerable are met and this can only be achieved when we all arise to our responsibilities. We will continue to reassure the world that: “there is no better alternative to peace”.
