The family of Mr. Stephen Okoi is questioning what it described as the sudden and mysterious disappearance of their daughter and mother at the Royal Palace of her in-laws.
The said missing mother, Mrs. Mary Stephen Okoi, married to Mr. Collins Okpo Ugbome of No. 45, Ujuju Street, Off Umusan Road, Kwale, Delta State last known location according to the family was the Palace of her husband’s grandfather, His Royal Highness, Igwe Ugbome II of Okpai Kingdom, Umuada Quarters in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State were the family went for Christmas on the 24th day of December, 2020.
The mother of two daughters namely Louisa and Chisom is from Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State, Nigeria.
Presently, the family of Mr. Stephen Okoi is questioning how it could be possible their daughter whom had not been in good cordial relationship with her husband’s family be missing from the Palace protected with CCTV cameras and security operatives on guard 24 hours.
Mary’s family claimed that explanations given to their family by the royal family as to the disappearance of their daughter is tainted with conspiracy and foul play.
The Okoi’s family said of the explanation, “which no reasonable and responsible individual would accept with regards to a human life.”
The family has called for a detailed investigation by all relevant law enforcement agencies, national and international human rights organisations to intervene and ensure justice is done for Mrs. Mary Stephen Okoi.
