Remembering No 45 – Honourable Seye Gbaroye

As the 45th President of the United States ended his tenure yesterday, he left us memories that will not be forgotten in our lifetime.

In all fairness, Donald Trump inherited a buoyant economy and to his credit he did not reck it.

He also made some bold moves like recognizing Jerusalem as the Capital of Isreal.

He also achieved some Peace deals between Israel and some of her neighbors that used to be sworn enemies.

We would not forget in hurry how he entertained us for four years with utopian claims of calling everything he did as the greatest ever in the history of the world when facts and history proves flagrantly otherwise!

It will also be evergreen in our memory how his Mungun (MAGA) movement which he flouts as the greatest political movement of all times almost brought the country to her kneels with violence and threats to other citizens that did not buy their ideology of hate.

Perhaps his greatest albatross was uncouthed mouth, name calling and little respect for some class of citizens or his political opponents: “Lying Ted, Crooked Hillary, Little Rubio, Sleepy Joe “ etc.

Americans are decent people. No parents wants their children to talk like bumps. For four grueling years we endured how our President was teaching our children that it’s okay to bully peers, it’s okay to drop the ‘F’ bomb and talk down on people!

All through the inauguration yesterday, I kept checking to see if the new POTUS was not sleepy!
To Trump, gutter language was the norm!

Let’s not forget that while it was not unusual for some Presidents not to have a good relationship with the 4th Estate of the realm, Trump took it to unprecedented level; it was a total war against the American Press which he labeled as Fake News!

He also declared war against immigrants and revitalized racism.

He desecrated the office with lies upon lies and took away credibility and integrity from the Oval Office.

Under him, 400,000 American lives have been lost to the Pandemic that he wished away instead of listening to science.

He made world’s worst dictators to be his friends and shunned our allies. He surrounded himself with crooks and brought criminal minded individuals to the White House. He shielded them from justice with reckless Presidential Pardons when the law caught up with them.

Donald Trump politicized the Justice department and rubbished several American sacred institutions. His recklessness and immaturity almost crumbled the enviable American Democracy.

Trump’s Presidency will be remembered as the most chaotic and most disastrous ever in the annals of the world’s greatest country.

Like Alexander the Coppersmith, he did us a great deal of harm, may the lord recompense him according to his deeds.

Hon. Seye Gbaroye writes from the U.S A
