Police in Lagos on Monday said it has arrested 19 suspects in connection with the lawlessness in Dalemo, Alakuko and Kola areas of the state.
Recovered from the suspects were machetes, hand saw, axe and bikes.
Reacting further, the police through its Spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said that the intelligence at the command’s disposal revealed that the hoodlums came from Otta axis of Ogun State to lay siege on the affected border communities on cult related crises and the command has been repelling them.
The command has deployed additional police personnel, including Police Mobile Force, to curtail the hoodlums; and restored normalcy to the crises affected communities.
The Lagos State Police boss, CP Hakeem Odumosu has also directed that the arrested suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for discreet investigation.
Meanwhile, normalcy has returned to the areas while police are on convoy patrol of the affected communities.
