Stealing spree came to an end for suspected traffic robbers and receiver of stolen phones in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
Lucky Isibor, 34, Isah Mohammed, 26 and Aminu Abdullahi, 21, are currently being held by the Police who arrested them on 26th March, 2021 at 11:30p.m by the Ikorodu Round About.
The suspects were alledgedly in possession of 11 phones, N139,000, a BRT Cowry Card, black bag containing assorted charms and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
Investigations by the police revealed that Lucky Isibor doubles as a receiver to traffic robbers in the area.
Trouble began for the three men when the combined team of policemen and local vigilante men on patrol sighted the suspects at the Ikorodu Round About while allegedly robbing innocent commuters and passers-by in the area.
Also a self-confessed cultist, Emmanuel James who lives at No 27, Hassan Street, Rofo, Odongunyan, Ikorodu has also been arrested by the same operatives who burst the suspected robbery gang in Ikorodu Division.
The suspected member of Aye Confraternity was arrested on 25th March, 2021, at about 6:50p.m.
The police said it recovered from the suspect one locally-made cut-to-size gun, three live cartridges, one blue berret with Eye Confraternity inscription, two bottles of Six Flower Perfume and assorted charms.
In Mushin, the duo of Nnamaka Udeh, and Obina Onovo, suspected robbers terrorising ITI Ladipo Main Market, 5 Star, Daleko Areas were also arrested by operatives attached to the Mushin Division of the Lagos State Police Command.
They were picked up on 25th March, 2021, at about 5:30p.m while the police were responding to a call from the marketers, who had been victims of their various operations at Ladipo market.
CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson said the operatives recovered from the suspects one Samsung S7, which was identified by one of their victims, pairs of shoes, bags containing ATM cards and charms.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has commended the efforts of the policemen and the vigilante men for the arrests.
He has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba for proper investigation and possible prosecution.
While assuring Lagosians of adequate security of lives and property in the state, CP Odumosu vowed to make Lagos State uncomfortable for criminals.
