Funke Busari, Lagos
Four suspects namely Jerry Andrew, 31, Abdulraman Supi, 27, Babangida Ahmed, 20 and Saliu Muhammad, 35 have been remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri for alledgedly breaking into the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos until they are able to perfect their bail.
Their remands were ordered by the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.S. Odusanya, following arraignment and denial of the defendants for invading the place at midnight and carting away some items.
Among items said to have been carted away by the suspects are OX fans, mattress, aluminum window frames, glasses for the buildings/offices and other items.
Subsequently the suspects were arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing.
Report has it that this incident occurred before the JUSUN strike but was only taken to court following the suspension of the strike.
This incidence appears to be a reoccurring decimal in the security challenges plaguing the country as a report about burglars were said to have visited a street close to the seat of power in Aso Rock, Abuja last month.
