An Ikeja Special Offence court presided by Justice Sherifat Solebo on Monday sentenced a civil servant Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola to one year inmprisonment for forgery of document.
The 40 year old woman who is of Level 7 pleaded guilty to forgery of document claiming to be a Level 14 civil servant in an attempt to stand surety for a suspect in the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, custody.
CASEFILE reports that Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola pleaded guilty to the nine count information dated 26th of April 2021 before the court upon arraignment.
Justice Sherifat Solebo while delivering judgement sentenced the convict to one year prison term.
The EFCC’s counsel S.O Daji informed the honourable court that the defendant forged a document purporting herself to be one Rasaki Wasiu Adeyiga a level fourteen civil servant working at Massey Street Children’s Hospital while she was just a Level 7 civil servant.
According to the charge filed against her, “Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola on about the 29th day of March 2021, at Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court forged a document titled “Letter of Introduction Miss. Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola – Principal Data Proc. Officer GL: 14 with Reference number MSCH/112/VOL.II/302 purportedly issued by Massey Street Children’s Hospital which you submitted to the officers of Economic and Financial Crime Commission to secure the bail of one Rasaki Wasiu Adeyiga”.
