Fighting crime and criminality has received a boost as the Lagos State Police Command took delivery of some ballistic equipment for use in the State.
The gesture to kit Police officers in the State came from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF.
On Wednesday, LSSTF donated 300 bullet proof vests and 300 ballistic helmets to support the police in its fight against crimes and criminality in the state.
Following the formal presentation, the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, announced receipt of the equipment to journalists.
According to the the police, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the Trust Fund, the Admin Director, ‘Degbola Lewis presented the items, stating that the donation was made to support the Command in its relentless fight against crimes and criminality in the state.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, expressed profound appreciation to the Trust Fund and the Lagos State Government.
The Lagos State Command boss promised that the equipment, meant to strengthen the logistic capacity of the Command, would be judiciously utilised.
He expressed confidence that the equipment would enliven the fighting spirit of police officers in the state.
CP Alabi also assured that given necessary logistic support, the police would be more committed and ever ready to protect the life and property of every citizen in the State.
