A 15-year-old girl, Amaka who works as a maid has been arrested for alleged killing of a 6-month-old baby she nannied for her mistress in Lagos.
The sad incident, the suspect said happened while she was taking care of the six-month-old left in her care as a result of an order from a spiritual realm.
She however claimed she regretted killing the baby boy, named Jayden Osokolo.
Amaka said trouble began for her when a friend of offered biscuits and sweets to her, and she appeared in a spiritual realm believed to be a witchcraft coven.
While narrating her ordeal before journalist on Monday at the Lagos State Police Command, the suspect said her life turned upside down as she started seeing strange things and attending secret meetings in the spiritual realm while others were sleeping.
She said: “My name is Chiamaka Odo. I am 15 years old from Anambra State. When I was in primary school, one of my friends, Ameri, gave me biscuits and sweets during lunch break. After eating the biscuits in the night, I found myself in a place where I met so many people who welcomed me and I started attending meetings with them in the spiritual realm.
“When I was coming to Lagos, my group said I should bring the blood, but I said no because I didn’t want to spill human blood.
“We had a meeting and I begged them to send me to do another thing, but they asked what I wanted. I told them I didn’t want to shed any blood, but I could do any other thing.”
The teenager, however, warned parents to be careful who they employ as domestic staff and that children should stop accepting gift items, especially food, candies, and drinks from schoolmates as many of them were on assignment to initiate more people into the demonic kingdom.
The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, who paraded the suspect, also disclosed that from January 24th to March 1st, 2022, a total of 230 suspected criminals were arrested in various parts of the state, adding that 60 of the suspects were arrested for murder, while 62 others were nabbed for robbery.
