Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command few days ago intercepted a suspected gang of armed robbers apparently heading for a location to commit crimes.
On Thursday, a group of suspected armed robbers terrorising the Ajah area of Lagos State on Thursday April 14, 2022 were accosted at the Ajah underbridge.
A statement signed by the Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin says the Anti-Crime patrol team attached to Ajah Divisional Police Headquaters, Ajah, Lagos, while on routine patrol, intercepted a silver-coloured Honda City vehicle with registration number GGE 288 GV.
The three occupants of the car are identified as Emeka George, 30 years, Ahmed Balogun, 23 years and Bolaji Elewuro 29 years.
The statement stated further that the operatives on reasonable suspicion conducted a search on the occupants of the vehicle and in the process recovered one locally made pistol with three live cartridges.
The operatives immediately moved the suspects to the station and preliminary investigation commenced.
According to him, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the CP Special Squad for a more discreet investigation, while also assuring that every required step will be taken to tackle insecurity.
