Indigenes of Lagos are again making clarion call to fellow Lagosians to team up and claim their inheritance.
At the forefront of this call is the Lagos flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Jagunmolu Kunle Uthman.
He lamented that the indigenes have been schemed out of things in Lagos, saying such act must stop.
Jagunmolu Kunle Uthman singled out a legal practitioner, Yakubu Eleto for praise in his efforts to claim back Lagos for Lagosians.
According to him, the Eko Foundation must leave up to its expectations by fulfilling the dream of the forefathers who he said would be disappointed by members who have soiled their hands with a pot of pottage.
Below is his call to Lagosians
Dear Lagosians (Lagos State Indigenes).
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Good morning. I hope that all is well with you all and your families? May Almighty God continue to shower abundant blessings on us all.
Eko Foundation (as it then was) had made its mark in the most recent past, due to the vision of some of our prominent fathers like Alhaji Danmola, Senator Munir Muse, Chief Tunde Fanimokun and other sons of Lagos State. Her Excellency, Alhaja Sinotu Ojikutu, Chief Teju Phillips (Nee Fernandez) and Prof. Imran Smith SAN, Chief Kunle Uthman (Member, Body of Benchers), Dr. Muiz Banire SAN and learned Silk Lawal Pedro.
However, and regrettably it became inactive and was no longer heard or felt in the dynamic politics of Lagos State. This is sad and an ill-wind that blew up the organisation, as it was.
Some of the leadership received juicy government appointments, some relieved of their employment, some were scared out of the Foundation.
The indigenes of Lagos State need a platform for change and to resist gross marginalisation of our people.
The Lagos State Government today has a paltry number of Lagosians and majority are from other neighbouring States.
Barrister Yaq’ub Eleto has been consistent and steadfast in defending the rights of our people in courts across the country at his own cost with the able guidance of some SANs, some of whom are also on this platform.
The rebranded “Eko Foundation LS” [LS, Lagos State] is poised to be dynamic, critical of government policies and ensure that we, Lagos State Indigenes are no longer marginalised in our own land.
We thank those who on their own exited this platform. Others are encouraged to be steadfast and to work with the soon to be inaugurated Interim Steering Committee, which will organise a meeting and election of officers.
ANYONE who will not be able and willing to work with the team, or a mole, informant, spy or reportage to government should feel free to EXIT now.
May the spirit of our forefathers guide, guard and protect us all. We must retrieve our dear Lagos State from impostors, the cabal and those who have surreptitiously converted our common-wealth to personal properties for their personal benefits, children, wives, paramour and political jobbers.
Welcome on board.
PLEASE STAY SAFE EVERYWHERE
Jagunmolu of Ibesheland.
