The Lagos State Governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party, Jagunmolu Kunle Uthman has eulogised the attributes of Prince Lateef Abiola Oriade known as Sete who died on June, 14, 2022, but is to be buried today.
Baring his mind about Sete, Uthman said, “By providence, today we commit to mother earth our colleague, brother and friend, Prince Abdul-Lateef Oriade, who was our classmate at the Methodist Boys High School, Lagos and an influential member of the elite Centenary Group.
“Sete bestrode the world with a simple life devoid of ostentatious lifestyle, satisfied at all times with the blessings of his creator. He never strove to compete or outshine anyone. He can be appropriately be described as a good man and a great guy. Never involved in unnecessary arguments, he chose his friends carefully and was well respected by all.
“His simple lifestyle can be compared to that of Late Anthony Olympio, whose demise is still a great loss to all of us. Olympio was a devout Catholic, while Sete was a Muslim. Still, both were admired irrespective of choice of faith.
“Today, it is time to say “Goodbye and Goodnight” to Sete. The Holy Qur’an says unequivocally that, “Truly from Allah we came and to Him we shall return.” We must all depart this ephemeral world of sins and tribulations one after another. How best are we going to be remembered and what legacy will we leave behind?.
“Sete, May Almighty Allah SWT forgive your sins and admit you to Paradise as Permanent Abode. Inna lillahi Wahina illahi Rajiuna. May He comfort your immediate and extended families, your friends, colleagues and associates, members of the Centenary Group and the distinguished Old Boys National Association of the prestigious MBHS Lagos. We all miss you. Goodbye! Goodnight!! Adieu!!! Sun re ooo..”
