Two Catholic Priests, Reverend Frs John Mark Cheinum and Donatus Cleopas have been kidnapped in Kaduna State.
A statement signed by Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, the Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Kafancha confirmed the incident.
According to him, the incident occurred on July 15, 2022 by 5:45a.m on their way to a function at a different parish in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He also appealed for calm and urged faithfuls from taking laws into their own hands while promising to use all legitimate means to secure their release.
“We solicit for an intense prayer for their quick and safe release, we equally wish to call on all and sundry to refrain from taking the laws into their hands,” he added.
“We will use every legitimate means to ensure their quick and safe release.”
“May Jesus crucified on the Cross listen to our prayers and hasten their quick and safe release,” he concluded.
