But for a divine intervention and swift response of the Police, a grandmother and her children would have been lynched to death in Ebute-Ero of Lagos by a mob who mistook them for kidnappers.
The mob was suspicious of the occupants of the commercial bus when they saw 12 children whose ages ranges from seven months to 12 years old in the bus.
They descended on them, beat them black and blue and set the bus in fire.
It took the intervention of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, patrol teams and Ebute-Ero Police Division to save them.
Preliminary investigation shows that they were all coming from the beach where they allegedly went to do some sacrifices.
The adults also explained that the children were their children and grandchildren.
Case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
