The last has not been heard about the unruly behaviour of some lawyers at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference ongoing in Lagos over shortages of conference materials.
News available to CASEFILE shows that they may be prosecuted for the violent behaviour.
This is the feelers from the President of the Association, Olumide Akpata on Thursday who hinted about prosecuting any lawyer seen in the viral video vandalising or looting conference materials at the collection centre.
He disclosed this while addressing members of the NBA at the Annual General Meeting, AGM, of the association at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island, Lagos.
“I hereby assured the generality of Nigerian legal practitioners that any lawyer found complicit in vandalisation of conference booths, theft of phones, assault on officials will be prosecuted,” he said.
He explained circumstances connected with the delay in the distribution of the conference materials to all members at once, attributing it to poor quality bags, which were rejected.
He said the decision was taken in a bid to give lawyers the best.
