A Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Waheed Ayilara has been appointed to take charge of the the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, in Lagos.
The senior officer was approved to head the department following approval of the officer by Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Alkali Usman Baba on Friday.
Ayilara succeeds Adegoke M. Fayoade who was transferred to the police Armament Section in Abuja following his elevation from Deputy Commissioner of Police to Commissioner of Police.
The new Commander was at a time the Commander of MOPOL 2 with headquarters in Keffi, Lagos.
He was also the Chief Superintendent of Police in charge of Administration, CSPA, Lagos Command.
In 2020, he was transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, where he was under the tuttlage of the current IGP.
He is expected to assume office on Monday after the usual handing and taking over routine.
