    PJAN Mourns Late Editor, Femi Adebesin-Kuti

    The Photo Journalists Association of Nigeria, PJAN, is mourning the death of Femi Adebesin-Kuti.

    Femi Adebesin-Kuti died early hours on Friday January 6, 2023 after a brief illness.

    Until Femi Kuti’s death, he was the Photo Editor, The Guardian Newspaper.

    He had worked with many media organisations such as Next, Vanguard and The Punch newspapers.

    The Nigerian Union of Journalists, Lagos Council has sympathised with PJAN, Lagos State chapter over the death of one of their members, in a condolence message signed by the Lagos Council chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, made available by the Secretary, Tunde Olalere stated that the Lagos chapter received the sad news of the passing of our dear brother, Femi Adebesin-Kuti, Photo Editor of the Guardian Newspapers which occured in the early hours of today with great shock.

    The message says, “We pray that God in his infinite mercy will uphold and stand by his immediate family and friends at this trying time as we sympathise with members of the Guardian Newspapers Chapel and the entire PJAN family.

    “May God continue to protect the rest of us and show up for us in our time of need, the statement said.

    Meanwhile, Kuti has been described as an hard working, social and friendly comrade, he
    was one of the Nigeria’s photo journalists that covered the World Cup held in South Africa in 2010.

    While on duty last year, Femi Adebesin-Kuti and his colleague, Eniola Daniel were attacked by hoodlums along Lagos Airport Road in March 2022.
