The Ogun State Police Command says that in view of the Presidential and National Assembly elections slated to take place on Saturday, 25th of February 2023, there is going to be restriction of human and vehicular movements on the road and waterways across the state, starting from 12 midnight to 6:00p.m of 25th of February 2023.
According to SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, the restriction of movement is in line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Usman Alikali Baba, aimed at ensuring peaceful conduct of the election.
The statement noted that security aides attached to public office holders are not allowed to escort their principals to polling stations and collation centres armed, and no state-owned security outfit will be allowed to participate in providing security during the conduct of the election.
Also, the Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba enjoined the law abiding citizens of the state to go out en masse and cast their vote for the candidate of their choice, as robust security arrangement has been put in place to ensure that the election is conducted under a very peaceful atmosphere.
