There is another good news from the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Umuahia, Abia state as a successful kidney transplant was conducted on a patient.
A statement from the Nephrologist, Dr. Chimezie Okwuonu sighted on a Facebook post says this is the 11th successful surgery from the hospital.
“We just finished having our 11th kidney transplant surgery right at FMC Umuahia, Abia State.”
“We strive continually to sustain this program in our public institution despite the challenges of brain drain, out-of-pocket payment and equipment. And we are succeeding,” he added.
He thanked the management for the support.
