The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday arrested five suspects in connection with the attack of a Divisional Police Officer and his team who responded to a distress call in Aboro Area of Ogun State.
The suspects; Adetayo Ismaila 42years, Kunle Oluwole 37 years, Ibrahim Ademosun 31 years, Meshach Olaide 31 years, and Dare Kehinde 35 years alledgedly courted trouble when some police officers went to rescue one Ogwu Uzoma who was hospitalised for medical attention at Ayodele Hospital Matogun because he had earlier been brutally injured by suspected cultist.
In a statement made available to journalists, SP. Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Police Command Headquarters Eleweran disclosed that the suspected cultists before their arrests were terrorising ABORO Area of Ogun State and have confessed to various crimes including murder.

Today the 9th of August 2023, five suspected cultist terrorising ABORO Area of Ogun State were arrested in connection with cultism. The five suspected merciless and dangerous cultist have confessed to various crimes including murder.
They were arrested based on a distress call received from a concerned citizen who narrated how the community has remained threatened by the endless panic constituted by these hooligans.
The Divisional Police Officer CSP Awoniyi Adekunle Isaac together with other security Agencies embarked on an aggressive raid following the credible source, patrolling around and within Matogun community which led to the arrest of the suspected cultist who have been in a hideout that the source describe for CSP Awoniyi Adekunle Isaac, they were known for fomenting trouble in that locality as follows,

These set of cultist attacked the Divisional Police Officer and his team who went to rescue one Ogwu Uzoma “m” presently under medical attention at Ayodele Hospital Matogun that was brutally injured by the suspected cultist. They had earlier boasted that they will kill him, if Uzoma the victim did not clear out his account for them.
Dangerous Items recovered are broken bottles, cutlasses, knife and significant amount of cannabis pointing to the fact that they are under the influence of hard drugs. Investigation revealed that they are members of Aiye Confraternity and have been instrumental in series of early morning attacks, waylaying persons who close from night duty on their way back home.
The CP has been briefed and has ordered that they are immediately charged to court to face the criminal justice system.
