Residents and travellers plying the Sango-Abeokuta route had a bitter tale after the heavy downpour on Sunday.
As against the usual flooding that they used to experience around this route, the windstorm wrecked havoc.
Electricity supply affected due to damages to electric poles
This time electric poles along this route were the worst hit as they were either uprooted or broken by the effect of the windstorm.
A video trending showed lots of damage caused by the rain.
Many vehicle owners were caught up having their vehicles damaged by the electric poles.
Motorists were trapped on Sango route
This resulted into traffic gridlock to and from Abeokuta on the two lanes.
Travellers spent hours in traffic
Report says the traffic stretched up to Joju area, while those who got information from passersby took a detour at Joju axis.
The good news however is that there was no reported case of human fatality.
For now, the residents and those affected by the damage to electric poles have resigned to fate, not sure of when electricity will be restored to their areas.
