A murder suspect, Micheal Olorunnimbe accused of killing one Halimat Hassan whose body was not found has been docked on Wednesday.
He was arraigned before Justice Oyindamola Ogala of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja.
One-count murder charge
The defendant was charged to court following a one-count charge of murder by the Lagos State Government.
According to the State Counsel A. O Azeez, the defendant committed the offence contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Laws Cap C17 Vol 3 Law of Lagos State 2015.
The one-count charge reads, “Micheal Olorunnimbe, on or about the 14th September, 2023 at about 1000 hours at Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos State, in Ikeja Judicial Division, did unlawfully killed one Halimat Hassan whose body was not found.”
Court fixes October 30 for trial
When the charge was read to him, he pleaded not guilty.
Thereafter, the prosecutor stated, ”In view of the plea of the defendant, may I humbly apply for a trial date.”
The defendant’s counsel, S. O Adeleke said she was not opposed to it.
Subsequently, Justice Ogala adjourned the matter till October 30 for commencement of trial.
