Afolabi Michael is a-70-year-old man, but as of Friday, he has been charged to a Lagos court and remanded in prison custody for alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl.
Micheal was reported to have been having sexual intercourse with a child but he has denied it.
The mother of the alleged victim informed the Police that the suspect defiled her daughter sometimes in July when school was on vacation and when the school resumed this year 2024.
The girl’s mother further said that the suspect had sexual intercourse with the survivor multiple times.
The alleged perpetrator however confessed to the Police to have romanced the girl, but he denied having sex with a minor because he has been suffering from weak erection for many years.
Trouble began for the senior citizen when the girl’s mother complained to the Police on behalf of her daughter and on September 27, 2024 at about 12:00 p.m the incident was thereafter transferred from Iju Division to Gender Unit of Lagos State Police Command for discreet investigation.
To this end, Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP. Benjamin Hundeyin said the suspect was charged to court on Friday, 10 October, 2024.
