A community leader in Oko Egan area of Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, Chief Wasiu Shitta has sent a Save-Our-Soul message to the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG, Force CID Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos over alleged harassment and action unbecoming of a police officer.

The petition dated May 21, 2025, was written from the chamber of Newscastle Associates.

The petition sighted by CASEFILE was received on May 22, 2025 at the Force CID Annex.

The petition specifically detailed a complaint against one DSP Gabriel Angel, Inspector Abayomi, Inspector Akin and others for alleged professional misconduct, intimidation, threat to life and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

The law firm told the AIG that the issues centered around properties that are currently a subject of litigation in suit No. EPD/7325/7MW/2018 between Chief Wasiu Shitta & 9 others.

He, however, expressed surprise that on getting to the site, he met one DSP Gabriel Angel, Inspector Abayomi, Inspector Akin and some other police officers who claimed they were deployed to wade off invaders from Oko Egan Village, Okun Mopo Akinlade Town, Eti-Osa L.G.A, Lagos State.

In view of the foregoing, the petitioners request that the AIG intervene in the matter especially when the matter is still in court.

This, he said, is necessary to maintain peace, law and order.
