The Lagos State Police Command has arrested eight suspected cultists and armed robbers during a coordinated raid in the Odogunyan area of Ikorodu.
The operation, according to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP. Abimbola Adebisi was carried out by the Bullock Tactical Team, following credible intelligence on the activities of a notorious criminal network reportedly planning fresh attacks in the area.

The operation, which took place on October 15, 2025, led to the arrest of eight men suspected to be members of the Eiye Confraternity and an armed robbery gang terrorising residents of Ikorodu and its environs.
Those arrested during the Ikorodu cultists and armed robbers raid were identified as Fadiya Ayodele, 27, Lawal Rasheed, 28, Akerele Demilare, 27, Alimi Victor, 23, Okiki Alufoge, 25, Nurudeen Dolapo, 25, Agboola Samuel, 25, and Ayolade Victor, 25.
Recovered from the suspects were a Nigerian Military camouflage uniform, a battle axe, an assault dagger, several charms, and counterfeit U.S. $100 bills totalling $3,000.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the arrests were made as part of a targeted crackdown on cultism and violent crime in Lagos State.
She stated, “The Command remains resolute in its determination to rid Lagos of all criminal elements.”
Leader of suspected cultists or armed robbers confession
During preliminary interrogation, Fadiya Ayodele, who identified himself as the leader of the Eiye Confraternity in the area.
Ayodele further disclosed that he had previously handed a locally made pistol to one Adewunmi Annadex, said to be a close associate of the group and currently on the run.
Police boss reaffirms zero tolerance for crime
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism, courage, and swift execution of the operation that led to the Ikorodu cultists and armed robbers.
He reassured Lagos residents that the police under his watch will continue to make Lagos State safe and secure for all residents.
Exhibits recovered during the suspects’ arrest
Items recovered included a camouflage uniform, weapons, charms, and fake foreign currency.
