The First Lady of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu has received the wife of the Inspector General of Police, Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Mutiat Disu at the State House, Abuja.

Senator Remi Tinubu urged the wife of the IGP to continue to ensure the welfare of the wives of Police Officers, disclosed in a statement by Busola Kukoyi, SSA media to the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
After the closed door meeting with the First Lady, Wife of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mrs. Disu, stated that she is ready to continue to take advantage of the various programs by the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI to empower police officers’ wives across the country.
Mrs. Disu who is also the National President of the Police Officers’ Wives Association, POWA, said she has learnt more from her during their interactions, adding that she would leverage on the RHI programs to improve the health, welfare and empowerment of POWA members.
“The purpose of visiting her is to tap from her wealth of experiences and to know about programs she has for the masses, to see how the POWA can benefit from the programs”.
“I have learnt so much from her within this short period the I have spoken with her, and I am sure by the time I start working with her, my people will benefit more from the RHI programs. We will be looking at the RHI social intervention and healthcare for police families too”.
“What the people should expect from me is that I am ready to work with Mama on this RHI as it affects our women since the RHI is basically for women and POWA is dominated by women.”
Mrs. Disu took over the mantle of leadership of the POWA after the new IGP Tunji Disu replaced Kayode Egbetokun on February 24, 2026.
