The Police High Command on Wednesday announced significant breakthrough in its operations detailing major successes in the arrest of suspected terrorists, kidnappers, and other criminal elements, across the country in April 2026.

According to a statement by the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the operations led to the arrest of 28 suspected terrorists, 85 suspected kidnappers, 62 armed robbery suspects, 51 murder and culpable homicide suspects, and 54 suspected cultists.
The operations were carried out under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The police also rescued 189 kidnapped victims from various criminal hideouts across the country during the period under review.
The statement added that operatives recovered 140 assorted firearms, 1,074 rounds of ammunition, and 37 stolen vehicles linked to criminal activities.
The IGP commended officers involved in the operations for their professionalism and dedication, noting that the results underscore the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing and improved inter-agency collaboration.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Force to dismantling criminal networks, enhancing public safety, and sustaining reforms aimed at building a more accountable and people-centered institution.
The police also urged Nigerians to support security agencies with timely and credible information, stressing that security remains a collective responsibility.
