Four kidnappers have been sentenced to death by hanging in Lagos yesterday. They are Victor Chukwunonso V, Ifeanyi Maduaka, Obinna Nwankwo and Richard Nwabueze. Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo of the Lagos State High Court handed down the judgement to the men because of armed robbery and kidnapping of a woman Mrs. Gloria Emole, the younger sister to Emzor Pharmaceutical Managing Director, Chief Ebuka Okafor. A-51-year old utility officer, Ubregbo Parmer, has been sent to jail for life for defiling his colleague’s nine-year-old, daughter. The convict was sentenced on Thursday by a Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Thursday. He was sentenced by Justice Abiola Soladoye after the prosecution had sufficiently proven the charge of defilement against him. Soladoye held that there were overwhelming evidence against the convict by the prosecution witnesses. The couple and a medical doctor, Dr. Obinna Obeta, were convicted over facilitating the travel of a young man to Britain with a view to his exploitation after a six-week trial at the Old Bailey.
