The International Press Centre, IPC, has decried attacks on journalists and other media professionals covering the governorship and House of Assembly elections in some parts of the country including Lagos, Ogun and Rivers States. At least 65 persons have been arrested for alleged voter inducement by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on March 18, 2023 Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections conducted across the 28 states. This was communicated by Head, Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren on Saturday. Justice Ramon Oshodi of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court in Ikeja has said that the Medical Director of Cancer Care Foundation, Olufemi Olaleye has a case to answer. The medical practictioner is standing trial on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault by penetration. The defendant is charged with defilement of a-16-year old, who is his wife’s niece.
