The National Leader of the Pan-Yoruba Socio-political group, Egbe Afenifere, Pa Ayorinde Fasanmi has died at the age of 94. The Second Republic Senator who was born on the 25th September, 1925 in Iye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, was until his death a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC. A Lagos division of Court of Appeal, on Monday affirmed the decision of a Lagos High Court, that convicted and sentenced a former supervisor with Chrisland Schools, Mr. Adegboyega Adenekan, to 60 years imprisonment for defiling a two and half years pupil of the school. Justice Mohammed Garba and other members of the panel unanimously affirmed the judgement of the lower court and held that Adenekan’s appeal lacked merit and dismissed his case. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has appealed to residents of the State to exercise patience and bear the discomfort that will be experienced from the six-month partial closure of the Third Mainland Bridge, which starts Friday. The Governor said the closure of the 11.8km bridge – the busiest in the State was inevitable, following physical deterioration observed on the structure after an integrity test conducted by the Federal Government.
