A man, Buchi Emmanuel standing trial for alleged rape has been re-arraigned for having sexual intercourse with a 37-year-old woman without her consent. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to direct the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, to immediately reverse the second increase in petrol prices in one month. This is pending the hearing and determination of the suit before the Federal High Court, Abuja, which challenges the legality of the NNPCL’s powers to increase petrol prices. Afolabi Michael is a-70-year-old man, but as of Friday, he has been charged to a Lagos court and remanded in prison custody for alleged defilement of an 11-year-old girl.
