Funke Akindele’s Second Marriage Crashes, JJC Skillz Announces

Rapper, Abdulrasheed Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz, married to multiple awards winning actress, Funke Akindele, has announced on his Instagram handle on Thursday that his marriage with his wife, popularly called Jenifa, is over and they are separated.

Their marriage lasted for 7 years and produced 2 children.

Earlier, the couple were both married to different persons, before their marriages failed.

According to JJC Skillz, their separation is as a result of unresolved marital differences, ending seven years of their marriage.

JJC wrote: “Dear Friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted, we shared a lot of things together and have created two beautiful children.

“The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. Months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship.”

JJC explianed that they were yet to discuss the custody of the children and the next step in their relationship and added that he chose to announce the separation so that the public could know they now lead separate lives.

He added, “I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and well-being of our children which is paramount as well as business interests which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other,” he wrote.

This may not be the best of time for the comic actress as it was rumoured days ago that she was to be the deputy governor with Lagos State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Azeez Olajide Adediran alias Jandor.

Ten years ago, on May 26, 2012, Nollywood diva Funke got married to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede, but due to irreconcilable differences, they duo parted ways in July 2013.

The actress later got married to Nigerian rapper JJC Skillz in London in May 2016.

JJC claimed that their relationship has been enmeshed with issues for the last two years.

He said that he had to move out of their home three months ago after Akindekle insisted he did, and had not been able to have a sit down with her since the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards, AMVCA, on May 14.
