An Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Olatunji Disu has assumed duty as the 55th Jead of the FCID Alagbon, Ikoyi, Lagos, marking a new leadership phase at the critical investigative arm of the Nigeria Police Force.

The posting of AIG Disu to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon takes effect from February 9, 2026.
He succeeds AIG Margaret Ochalla, who is currently attending a short-term professional training programme in the United States.
Seasoned officer takes the helm
A native of Lagos State, AIG Disu is widely regarded as a seasoned officer with over three decades of operational, investigative, and strategic policing experience.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Lagos State University, alongside multiple Master’s degrees in Public Administration and Criminology, Security and Legal Psychology, and an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Investigation.
Since joining the Nigeria Police Force in 1992, AIG Disu has served in several high-profile leadership roles across the country. These include Commander of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, Head of the Intelligence Response Team, Commissioner of Police in Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, and AIG in charge of the Special Protection Unit.
His leadership of the Rapid Response Squad between 2015 and 2021 earned national and regional recognition for urban crime control and operational excellence.
Commitment to professional policing
Speaking upon assumption of duty at the FCID Annex Alagbon, AIG Disu expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police for the trust placed in him.
“I appreciate the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, for counting me worthy of this opportunity to serve in this capacity,” he said.
He pledged a zero-tolerance stance on corruption and promised to strengthen the operational and investigative capacity of the FCID Annex Alagbon.
Call for public support
He also called on stakeholders, sister agencies, and the public to support the police in the fight against crime and the promotion of justice.
AIG Disu emphasised the need for collaboration between the police and the public, noting that effective policing thrives on cooperation and trust.
He assured that the FCID Annex Alagbon under his leadership would remain committed to professionalism, integrity, and justice.
