    Zone 2 AIG Decorates Newly Promoted ACP, Tasks Them On Professionalism

    Six newly promoted officers have been decorated as Assistant Commissioners of Police by Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Olohundare Jimoh Moshood at the Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos on Monday.

    The officers were decorated at the official resumption of the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters, Onikan, comprising Lagos and Ogun states.

    The officers decorated are; ACP. Abel Friday Adekola, ACP. Aderonke Bakare, and ACP. Iliazu Mohammed Lawal.

    Others are ACP. Sola Bolarinwa Knight, ACP. Samuel Ijachi and ACP. Raji Ganiyu.

    In his maiden speech, the AIG charged officers and men of the Zonal Command to continue to uphold the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and professionalism.

    Addressing officers and men of the command, the AIG emphasised professionalism and sets the tone for his leadership.

    According to him, “The image of the Nigeria Police Force is shaped by our daily conduct and interactions with members of the public.”

    He charged personnel to uphold discipline, integrity, and accountability, warning against misconduct and corruption.

    “We must shun all acts of indiscipline and corruption. Any officer found wanting will face decisive action in accordance with the law,” he said.

    Speaking further, the AIG noted the strategic importance of Lagos and Ogun states, stressing a critical time when security demands proactive policing.

    He described the zone as a vital economic hub with dense population and significant national assets, requiring strengthened collaboration with stakeholders.

    “The task before us is enormous, but I am confident that with teamwork and commitment, we will take policing in this zone to the next level,” he stated.

    He also called for improved partnership with communities, traditional rulers, traders, and government institutions to enhance safety and crime prevention.

    “This recognition is not only an honour but also a call to service. We are committed to making a significant impact in the discharge of our duties,” he said.

    The ceremony was attended by senior officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the epoch making events.

    Speaking on behalf of the newly decorated officers, ACP Adekola expressed gratitude and reaffirmed their dedication.

    The event was witnessed by the senior officers of the management team, families, friends and well wishers of the newly promoted officers.
