    Man, 27, Alleged To Have Killed Motorcyclist In Ogun Arrested

    A-27-year-old man, Chidi Ebere has allegedly killed a commercial motorcyclist in Ogun State.

    The victim, a-36-year-old man, Sunday Ogbu died following an alleged knife attack on him in Igbesa area of the state

    The suspect, Chidi was allegedly reported to have attacked the motorcyclist on Wednesday.

    According to the Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the suspect boarded a motorcycle operated by the victim, and attacked him in an attempt to seize the bike, resulting in a violent struggle. 

    Doctor confirms death of motorcyclist in Ogun

    He was rescued and taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

    Detectives of the Igbesa Division, Ogun State Police Command arrested the suspect.

    The Police said the suspect allegedly carried out the attack on Wednesday, 8th April 2026, at about 7:00a.m.

    Police authorities said a witness at the scene raised the alarm, prompting police to rush to the scene.

    The suspect was arrested immediately, while the motorcycle and the knife used in the attack were recovered as exhibits. 

    The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for thorough investigation and prosecution.

    The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the act and assures that justice will be served. 

    CP. Ojajuni urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
