An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress, APC ticket for the Share/Oke-Ode state’s constituency seat in the Kwara State House of Assembly, Abdulrasheed Akogun, has officially submitted his completed nomination form ahead of the 2027 election cycle.

Akogun, popularly known as “Omo Akogun,” said the move marked a major step toward realising his ambition of representing the people of Share/Oke-Ode Constituency under the platform of the APC.
The aspirant also announced plans to commence a ward tour across the constituency as part of efforts to engage party members, stakeholders and residents on his vision for the area.
Akogun seeks purposeful representation
Speaking on his aspiration, Akogun said his decision to contest for the seat was not driven by personal ambition or political relevance, but by a desire to offer purposeful representation to the people.
According to him, the Share/Oke-Ode Constituency deserves leadership that is proactive, accessible and responsive to the needs of the people.
“This aspiration is not driven by personal glory, political vanity, or the hunger for the title of ‘Honourable’. It is certainly not motivated by the desire to amass wealth or seek relevance,” he stated.
“Rather, it is borne out of a deep sense of responsibility and an unshakable conviction that our constituency deserves purposeful and proactive representation.”
Akogun noted that communities within the Share/Oke-Ode Constituency have continued to demand quality representation capable of addressing pressing concerns, including youth empowerment, education, infrastructure and economic opportunities.
Constituents deserve responsive leadership
The aspirant said the challenges confronting the constituency require more than political promises, stressing that experience, strategic engagement and strong networks are necessary to attract development to the area.
He said he had spent the last five years consulting with residents across the 10 wards and over 250 communities that make up the constituency.
“The realities confronting our communities today demand far more than rhetoric and ceremonial representation. Our people deserve a representative who understands the terrain and its intricacies,” Akogun said.
He added that the 2027 election presents an opportunity for the constituency to embrace what he described as “a new era of purposeful representation.”
Ward tour begins soon
Akogun further appealed to party leaders, APC members and constituents to support his aspiration, promising to serve with integrity, courage and accountability if elected into the Kwara State House of Assembly.
He described himself as a bridge-builder and dependable voice capable of effectively representing the interests of the Share/Oke-Ode Constituency at the state legislature.
“As we continue this journey together, I humbly seek the support, prayers, and collective trust of our people, the task ahead is collective, and with the grace of God and the support of the people, victory and meaningful representation shall surely be ours,”he said.
