The Academic Staff Union of University, ASUU, has suspended its eight-month-old industrial action conditionally, a member of the union’s National Executive Committee has disclosed on Friday. The union decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday. A 26-year-old drug dealer, Matthew Bobby Imonitie, has been convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment for unlawfully being in possession of 4.033 kilograms of a banned substance, Methamphetamine. This is the judgement by Justice Daniel Osiagor, of a Lagos Federal High Court in Lagos. The Nollywood film-maker and producer was remanded on February 10, 2017, after allgedly obtaining money by false pretence from no fewer than 40 Bureaus De Change, BDC, operators in different parts of Lagos.
