At last, the fear has been confirmed, the Managing Director of Fourscore Homes Limited, Femi Osibona was one of the victims of the Ikoyi collpased building and this is official. Femi Osibona’s body has been found recovered in the rubble of the collapsed Ikoyi building. Fourscore Homes is the firm constructing the 21-storey building under construction which collapsed on Monday, on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi, Lagos. The National Emergency Management Agency confirmed this on Thursday evening after rescuers discovered the body. So far, authorities have announced 39 recovered bodies from the rubble.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday, inaugurated members of the investigation tribunal that will conduct an inquiry into the misconduct responsible for the collapse of a 21-storey structure on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi on Monday. This is the ruling of Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of a Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday. Sources said it was as a result of the killing of a tricyclist over alleged attempt to obtain money from him. His death angered his colleagues who mobilised to confront the police. The South West Coordinator of the National Emergency Agency, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye has disclosed that the number of dead victims from the 21-storey Ikoyi building collapse has risen to 36. He also revealed that nine of the trapped victims have so far been rescued. Among them were one female and eight males. Three of the dead victims were also females.

The cause of the massive gas leakages reported in Ikeja area of Lagos State, CASEFILE learnt was caused by burst pipelines by construction workers of the current construction works going on in the area.
