The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, at Ajao Estate Division and other senior police officers of the Lagos State Police Command (names withheld) have been redeployed over allegations bothering on lacklustre enforcement of the COVID-19 protocols in their areas.

The command had arrested 41 clubbers at Garbana Club between 1:40a.m and 2:30a.m.

This led the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu to warn officers of the Command particularly the Area Commanders and DPOs on Monday, 8th March, 2021 at the POWA Hall,Oduduwa Ikeja.

The Police boss sternly said on no account should any of the officers allow gross violation of the protocols in the state, but yet, “many violate these protocols with impunity.”

He further reiterated and warned Divisional Police Officers against promoting violation of COVID-19 protocols in their areas particularly clubbing and non wearing of nose masks.

He urged for compliance, noting that charity begins at home, and that he will pay them surprise visits to catch them unawares.
