    Police Arrest Man For Physically Assaulting His Daughter

    A 61-year-old father has been handed over to the police for physically assaulting his daughter.

    He was accused of assault on his 11 years old daughter and has been handed over for further investigation.

    Meanwhile, the girl has been rescued from further assault by the Directorate of Citizens Rights, of Lagos State Ministry of Justice.

    The Directorate of Citizens Rights rescued the victim after a neighbour on a street in Ikosi, Ketu reported to the Directorate of Citizens Rights, of Lagos State Ministry of Justice.

    This Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odusanya, Director of Citizens Rights, said officials of the Ministry of Justice disclosed on Wednesday.

    The agency through Public Affairs Officer, Directorate of Citizens Rights Taiwo Ade-Balogun said that the assault on the girl had occurred on several occasions before it was formally reported to the authorities.

    According to Mrs. Odusanya, “The good neighbour stated that the 61 year old man who lost his wife, the mother of the victim and had remarried, was always in the habit of assaulting the victim and her sibling.”

    The Director, Child Protection Unit, Mrs. Olubukayo Odukoya, said the victim will be taken to a government facility for a total rehabilitation.
