It was pomp and ceremony at the maiden edition of the Abuja Luxury Real Estate Industry Night and Awards, ALREINA.

Held at the luxurious Wells Carlton Hotel, Asokoro, Abuja, the event hosted eminent personalities and practitioners in the nation’s Real Estate sector.

The event, themed, “Opening Up The Cities For Sustainable Real Estate Investment” was handled by investment coach and CEO of Fordax Training Academy in FCT, Dr. Stephen Michael, urged investors to always put their money and time into sustainable projects and investments.

He noted that real estate sector in Nigeria was still fresh and unharvested, urging Nigerians to grab the opportunity and not allow foreigners to discover it before them.

Speaking at the award, President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Christopher Isiguzo commended the convener, Mr. Odita Sunday for championing conversations around real estate sector.

He urged him to carry journalists along in the project with a view of taking advantage of investment opportunities in the sector.

Isiguzo also noted that the property sector is the new oil, hence the sector is open for both rich and poor to start investing.

The convener, Odita, noted that it was high time journalists commenced a conversation around the real estate industry since the industry has the capacity of changing the fortunes of Nigeria.

According to him, real estate sector contributes over 70 percent in UK’s GDP, but in Nigeria, the sector contributes less than 8 percent to nation’s GDP.

Some of the awardees include Mrs. Funke Adesoji, CEO of RemaxRealtor, Col. Kolawole Shaw CEO of Korlie Mobs Ventures Ltd, Hajia Haidara Rayaanatu amongst others.
